The room reservation system is having intermittent problems, where users are told that the room they chose was unavailable. This tool was created and is maintained by IT, and we have reported the problem to them. You can direct users with this issue to the IT help desk and we'll continue to to monitor the issue.

The comouter availability map is innaccurate at Mary I (and possibly other locations). I suspect this is related to the recent reimaging of computers by IT. I'm working with Institutional Marketing to fix the issue.

Computers are not letting the system know when they log out. Logging in is being captured perfectly, but the system thinks that all computers are in use even after a user has logged off, because the message is not making it to the server.

Institutional Marketing is aware of the issue and is working on it with IT.

As of this morning, the computer availability map is not updating for either logins or log outs. This means that it is currently showing that every computer in the building is available. I have a ticket in to Institutional Marketing to find out what is going on and will update when I know more.

The screen on the 4th floor of Mary I is down completely. The hard drive is bad on the machine running it, so we have a ticket in to IT to get the drive replaced and reimaged. It will be a few days to a week before they get it back in operation, and then we'll have to configure it.

The computer availability map is currently unavailable. I'm working with Institutional Marketing to get it restored.

I have created a simple caching system for the computer map, so it now updates once every 7 minutes. Institutional Marketing has restored access to the data we need to make this tool work.

For now, the computer availability map is back online, including on the interactive displays.

For some reason, the room reservation system does not work with Safari for Mac or Mobile Safari on iOS. It will either refuse to let the user access the site or else it will pretend to work (and even confirm success!) but actually fail to save anything.

IT is aware of the issue, but we have no ETA for when this will be fixed. In the meantime, have users try Firefox or Chrome to reserve rooms.

This has been fixed. There were some settings on the server that trigger a bug in Safari, and IT has changed those settings.

They have also pushed out a separate fix for the iPhone/iPad problem.

The API that powers the computer availability map is not showing any computers in use across the whole campus. This is not limited to just the library, and I have notified Institutional Marketing. But currently the map is showing that all computers everywhere are available.

IT and Institutional Marketing have fixed the computer availability API! The map is back online, and I've pushed the code live to add it back in to the displays. They might need some manual work to get the new code live on the displays, but the availability should be back within an day or two.

The Group Study Room website is down. We've alerted IT to the problem and they are working on it. For now, students will have to reserve rooms using the touchscreens at the entrance of each room.

The reserve website is back up and running. Images of rooms are not loading, however. It will take a few weeks to fix the missing image problem.

The Room Reservation website is allowing some folks to log in but not others. We're receiving a lot of reports on the issue, and are passing them along to IT, who manages the site. I'll put up a note on the room reservation page warning folks of the issue.

The network account for the digital displays has expired, knocking all of the screens offline (or at least freezing them). We're working on updating the accounts on all of the machines to reconnect to the network.

Several computers on the third floor are not reporting their availability correctly (4 or 5 machines are always listed as available, even when they are not.) I've manually adjusted the numbers of available computers to reflect this, and we are working with IT and Institutional Marketing to get the numbers corrected.

We are working with IT to get the computers in MaryI added to the computer availability API. Currently there is no information for Allendale locations. In addition, numbers for Steelcase are approximate while the computer lab is closed.

We hope these issues will be resolved by the start of Fall semester.

While IT updated the computer availability to include Mary Idema Pew, only PCs are currently counted. Once Macs are working, we will update the availability site with the new location.

Frey computer numbers are incorrect. IT has imaged all public computers except for those in 490 as being in 290 CHS. There are only 12 computers in 290. We are working with IT to address the issue, although we may remove Frey from the computer map if we cannot get accurate numbers.

Mary gave me a complete list of machines at Frey and Steelcase, and I have sent it to Institutional Marketing to get the computer map updated. I'll work with Mary to get an updated list for Mary I, too, so we can fix the accuracy issues we've dealt with for the past 2 years.
